Lemons Mill Brewery

Lemons Mill Brewery is a Harrodsburg brewery built on a family legend. According to the brewery’s history, four American soldiers met in a village pub during the First World War, where teasing over one man’s nickname, “Leo,” set off a brawl that ended with the four as lifelong friends. After the war they settled in Harrodsburg, opened a mill, general store and post office, and during Prohibition started a secret brewery of their own. Generations later, Jay Anderson, Steve Anderson, Keith McQuerry and LeMayne Ellis, cleaning out an attic, found an old photo of the four men and pages of their recipes, and after much experimenting they launched Lemons Mill Brewery and its OCD2 brand. The beers combine traditional brewing with modern flavor infusions. Lemons Mill is part of the Kentucky Brewgrass Trail, brings its beer to regional festivals and hosts a yearly homebrew competition for charity.
