West Sixth Farm

West Sixth Farm is the countryside extension of Lexington’s West Sixth Brewing, set on 120 rolling acres in Franklin County, a few minutes from downtown Frankfort. The brewery chose the farm as its next step so it could grow ingredients for its beers, make estate ales, host events and show visitors how farming and brewing connect. The first 30 acres hold a hop yard, a cider apple orchard, blackberry brambles and a catch-and-release fishing pond. The seasonal taproom pours draft beer and sells beer to go, with a large pavilion and seating across the property, and guests may carry their beer anywhere on the grounds; picnics are welcome and food trucks visit at times. Roughly four miles of trails for intermediate mountain biking, running and hiking, built with help from the Kentucky Mountain Bike Association volunteers, stay open year-round. The farm also offers monthly tours and private events.
