Versailles Brewing Company

Versailles Brewing Company is a brewpub in Versailles founded by Gary Jones and Curtis Congleton, who met while volunteering to cook community dinners at the town’s First Christian Church. Over a year of dinners they became close friends, and one night Curtis remarked that every nearby community had a brewery and Versailles needed one too, unaware that Gary had been homebrewing for years. That conversation led to a two-year search for a location, which they secured on June 30, 2017, and the brewery opened on December 29 of that year. Curtis, raised on a Knox County farm, now farms Deuce Springs, a 300-acre property. Gary, with a background in real estate, helped establish the Woodford County Ministerial Association Soup Kitchen. The restaurant serves beef raised only on Curtis’s farm, and many vegetables for its daily specials come from there as well. It also hosts private events.
