Mile Wide Beer Co.

Mile Wide Beer Co. is a Louisville brewery and taproom that began with a few friends, a couple of beers and one big idea. It is housed in a building that once held a biscuit factory and, later, Louisville’s first brewpub, set behind a tall grain silo between downtown and the Original Highlands, with a large lot and nearby public transit. The taproom offers plenty of seating, board games and a game room with arcade and pinball machines. The founding team brings experience from Schlafly Beer in St. Louis: co-founder Scott Shreffler spent nine years there as a regional brewery representative and leads sales and marketing, while co-founder and head brewer Kyle Tavares, a Henderson, Kentucky, native, trained in the World Brewing Academy’s Master Brewer program and worked at Schlafly as a brewer and quality specialist. It also hosts events and parties.
